Spectrum is a rules-lite hack of the Genesys Roleplaying System used (for example) in the Fantasy Flight Star Wars Roleplaying Game.
- Use your fancy Genesys Dice without reading hundreds of pages of rules.
- Create a character in a few minutes by choosing their name(s), look, training, equipment, talents, and weakness.
- Game Master Guidance for presenting interesting challenges and portraying awesome antagonists.
- Play through modules from Edge of Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny, or invent scenarios of your own!
Spectrum is in open alpha. If you've played it and would like to share some feedback, I'd love to hear from you! https://forms.gle/inb9BC3TpgaS1B6VA

I'm curious, on step 3 under making rolls you say that "If the character's skills apply, upgrade" - it's not clear if you mean the active PC making the check or the character helping. Then on page 7 when talking about Characters, you say that characters get +1 ability die "when making roll where their skills are helpful" which seems to contradict with the upgrade from earlier.
Have you given any thought to this since the alpha? I'd love to know your intention and see where you think the upgrade comes into the picture!
Oop, good catch! It should be that skills upgrade an ability die to a proficiency die (green to yellow) and that another character helping adds an ability die. Adding an die is more impactful than the ugprade and the intention is that characters helping each other is better than going it alone, even if you've got all the right skills.
Thanks for calling that out. I'll push a new version shortly!
This is exactly the kind of thing I was a hair away from making myself when I first read those tomes!
